URBAN ART FESTIVAL STYRIA

International festival for street art, graffiti, music, media art, upcycling, design and crossover
Lots of color, cool beats, interactions, media art, design and upcycling are promised by this year's "Urban Art Festival Styria", which will take place from 17 to 25 Aug in the city of Graz, the market town of Passail and in various regions in Styria.
The theme of this year's art productions is “Transformation”.
... Digitalization is one of several transformations whose consequences for almost all facets of our existence are immense. How we communicate, how we get around, how we work, how we consume, how we learn, how we become politically active - everywhere the use of digital information technology and digital communication technology is changing what has been established up to now. ...
The festival will address this topic with national and international artists and will use large-scale street art images to generate a great deal of publicity and communication.
Among other things, squares, walls and objects will be dipped in color in the form of street art, recycled material will be processed into fashion and works of art, and young new music trends from many parts of Europe will make public spaces resound.
Throughout the festival, international stars of the art scene such as Lunar (HR), KOCTEL (ES), KJ263 (DE), Jacoba Niepoort (DK), SMACK (HR) as well as young artists and artists from various European countries will work together on new innovative projects and present them tot he public.
In addition, new locations will be used again this year. Events will take place at Parkhouse Graz, Umspannwerk Keplerbrücke Graz, in the Almenland in the market town of Passail
The music program is also particularly innovative. The festival focuses on in-house productions and new interpretations. Like in a music laboratory, music is composed, produced and premiered.
A wide range of musical styles, from Styrian dialect pop with SladoledLoveKomet, crossover with “The Callboys”, beatboxer and beatmaker Murat through to “Exit Universe” with Raphael Meinhart and Ukrainian Avant Garde provide a cool groove.

Viel Farbe, coole Beats, Interaktionen, Medienkunst, Design und Upcycling verspricht das diesjährige „Urban Art Festival Styria“, welches vom 17. - 25. August in der Stadt Graz, in der Marktgemeinde Passail und in verschiedenen Regionen in der Steiermark über die Bühne geht.
Die Kunstproduktionen stehen dieses Jahr unter dem Motto „Transformation“.
… Die Digitalisierung ist eine von mehreren Transformationen, deren Folgen für fast alle Facetten unseres Daseins immens sind. Wie wir kommunizieren, wie wir uns fortbewegen, wie wir arbeiten, wie wir konsumieren, wie wir lernen, wie wir politisch tätig werden - überall verändert der Einsatz digitaler Informationstechnik und digitaler Kommunikationstechnik das bislang Eingespielte. …
Das Festival bespielt dieses Thema mit nationalen und internationalen Künstlern und sorgt mit großflächigen Street Art Bildern für große Öffentlichkeit und Kommunikation.
So werden u.a. Plätze, Wände und Objekte in Form von Street Art in Farbe getaucht, Recycling- Material wird zu Fashion und Kunstwerken verarbeitet, und junge neue Musikströmungen aus vielen Teilen Europas werden öffentliche Plätze zum Klingen bringen.
Internationale Größen der Kunstszene wie Lunar (HR), KOCTEL (ES), KJ263 (DE), Jacoba Niepoort (DK) sowie junge KünstlerInnen und Künstler aus verschiedenen Ländern Europas werden gemeinsam neue innovative Projekte erarbeiten und öffentlich präsentieren.
Zusätzlich werden auch heuer wieder neue Locations bespielt. So finden u.a. Veranstaltungen im Parkhouse Graz, Umspannwerk Keplerbrücke Graz, im Almenland in der Marktgemeinde Passail
Besonders innovativ gestaltet sich auch das Musikprogramm. Im Blickpunkt des Festivals stehen Eigenproduktionen sowie Neuinterpretationen. Analog zu einer Musikfabrik wird komponiert, produziert und uraufgeführt.
Eine große Bandbreite an Musikrichtungen, angefangen von steirischem Dialekt-Pop mit SladoledLoveKomet, Crossover mit „The Callboys“, Beatboxer und Beatmaker Murat über „Exit Universe“ mit Raphael Meinhart bis hin zu Ukrainischer Avant Garde sorgen für einen coolen Groove.
